Home printing workflow

Print sewing patterns at home at the correct scale

Choose your paper, keep the pattern at 100%, preview each sheet, and verify the scale check before assembling or cutting.

What changes

Make the print settings visible before paper is used

Home-print errors usually come from a mismatch between the pattern scale, PDF viewer settings, paper size, or page overlap. Laytura makes those choices explicit and shows the sheets before export.

Workflow

From source file to checked result

  1. 01

    Open the pattern

Import a supported PLT, HPGL, DXF, or compatible PDF pattern file.

  2. 02

    Choose the real paper size

Select A4, Letter, A3, Legal, Tabloid, another A-series size, or a custom sheet.

  3. 03

    Keep scale at 100%

Only change scale intentionally. The page count updates with the selected paper and orientation.

  4. 04

    Preview, export, and test

Inspect the sheets, export the PDF, then print and measure the scale check before the full pattern.

Questions

What to know before you start

What print setting should I use for a sewing pattern?

Use Actual size or 100% in the PDF print dialog. Disable Fit, Shrink, or Scale to page, then measure the printed scale check.

Can I split a large pattern across A4 sheets?

Yes. Laytura tiles a full-size pattern across printable sheets and lets you preview the result before exporting.

Why do my pattern pages not line up?

Check that the PDF was printed at 100%, that every sheet used the same orientation and paper size, and that the intended overlap was not cropped by the printer.
